HONDURAS OFFERS BENEFITS TO THE NORTH AMERICAN MARKET RELATED TO THE CONVENTION AND CONGRESS EXPENSES
TAX INFORMATION EXCHANGE AGREEMENTS (TIEA)

According to the information provided by the Commercial Department of the U.S. Embassy in our country, Honduras, as signatory of the Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEA), grants the benefits that permits northamerican citizens, residents,or their employees to deduce from their income tax any epense directly related to the assistance to conventions,seminaries, or similar meetings taking place in Honduras, which are proper to their activity or business.

In accordance with section 274 of the Revenue Ruling 94/56 of the Internal Revenue Service of North America, any convention,seminar or similar meeting taking place in Honduras will de considered as if it was taking place in northamerican territory, benefice entitled in Central America only to Costa Rica and Honduras.

With the recent creation of the Honduras Convention and Visitors' Bureau, Honduras will be considered a beneficiary country in the area, by offering benefits seeked by the northamerican citizens, becoming an additional competitive advantage for the country,
since it already counts with the quality infraestructure to attend this market.
